Ever since I was young, I’ve always had an interest in mythology. The almost illogical yet logical stories, dangerous and benevolent gods, and the characters affected all captivated me. However, beyond all these factors, the monster designs captured my attention the most. The devastating Leviathan of the Bible, with its never ending body. The petrifying Medusa, with her snaking locks. The almost believable unicorn, with its white serenity and piercing horn. Where did the natural inspirations of these creatures come from? How did these monsters become so powerful and mysterious? These questions have existed within my mind ever since, and they’ve influenced a majority of my work.
My goal is to illustrate the strength and grand power of these beings, and capture glances of the world they live in. These creatures have been developed since the beginning of ancient human civilization. Although some stories have been lost to time, the stories that exist today are a great inspiration in modern media, and are a testament to the power of storytelling.
I am a visual development illustrator captivated by the depictions of creatures such as demons, angels, monsters, and animals, and the worlds they exist in. I mainly work in Procreate, but I also enjoy using traditional mediums like pen, pencil, ink, acrylic, and gouache.
